Long time. Please forgive me.

The later half of 2013 was bittersweet.
Here is an update:
My beautiful sweet mother in law was diagnosed with Cancer.
This is her 3rd time having cancer.
Through this trial, she has undergone many surgeries, ingested many different medications, and spent many nights away from home in a rehab center to undergo physical therapy.
Andrew and I were lucky enough to be able to spend the weekends taking care of her, and keeping her company, allowing Andrew’s father to get some much needed rest.
She is the light of our family and always knows how to turn a frown upside down.

Andrew and I were fortunate enough to purchase a home.
This was taken the day we closed.
Christmas was spent with family. No other way I would have it.

As life seemed to sweep me away,
I found that not everything in life has to be scheduled,
penciled in,
or blocked out.
I was able to make a lot of cool quilts last year that have started to benefit others.
That is exactly what I wanted.
This quilt was donated to a close friend whose father
passed away from cancer.
It was auctioned off to help cover medical and funeral expenses.
You can see construction post of this quilt here.
And last week this quilt was auctioned off to raise money for my local quilt guild.
You can see the construction post of this quilt here.
I am thankful for progression.
I am thankful for trials
both great and small.
I am thankful for blessings
both great and small.
I am looking forward to making 2014 an even better year than 2013.
Be great to each other!
