Here is a video to show you the process of basting your quilt sandwich when you are quilting on a sit-down quilting or domestic sewing machine. Whenever I am making a wall hanging quilt, I always use 2 layers of batting- usually Warm & Natural or Warm & Plush from The Warm Company. For the spray, I really like to use Sullivan’s quilt basting spray, and you can usually find it at Mynotions.com.
I also ALWAYS make sure to safety pin the 4 corners as well because there is nothing worse than having one of those corners flop under while you’re quilting and you don’t notice it until you’ve already stitched it down with a million stitches. Do yourself a favor and just take an extra second to pin the corners. Enjoy!
