I could watch these videos for hours! They perfectly show how a traditional calligraphy pen would work. Notice that when the pen is pushed harder the line gets thicker. We apply this same principle of thicks and thins when doing hand lettering. When mimicking the look of calligraphy but not done with a traditional nib it is sometimes called “faux-ligraphy”.
